amongst Lonely Planet's top five in January 2004.
Lonely
Planet conducted a survey in 134 countries to select
the world's favorite destination for individual travelers.
India was among the top five favorite international
destinations in the global survey. The top five in
the survey were Thailand, Italy, Australia, India
and New Zealand. The Lonely Planet said, "The
respondent for the survey was today's independent
travelers - professional with a degree or post-graduate
qualification who is aged 25 to 34."
